The article discusses the impact of bioclimatic factors on the capacity of highways. The capacity of a two-lane road has been determined by taking into account bioclimatic conditions, road conditions, and the average free-flow speed of vehicles. For the design of new roads, it is recommended to determine the actual maximum permissible speed of light passenger cars analytically, based on the calculation scheme, geometric parameter requirements, and transport-operational characteristics. This approach considers the influence of meteorological factors, the interaction between the road and the vehicle, and the driver’s perception of traffic conditions.
