The article touches upon the change in the braking distance and direction of the automobile as a result of an increase in reaction time due to the use of a phone or another gadget by the driver while driving. The probability of occurrence of road traffic accidents (RTA) due to a change in the direction of the automobile and the braking distance on curved roadways and straight ways is observed. Diagrams of the trajectory of the automobile on curved roadways in case of normal and slow reaction of the driver, the difference in the braking distance of the car depending on the duration of the slow reaction and the change in the braking distance depending on the coefficient of adhesion are observed. According to the outcomes of the research carried out by the Chair, it has been proven that during RTA inspections it is necessary to record the use of a phone or another gadget by drivers at the moment before the accident.
