Abstract

The Article studies the road traffic accidents (RTAs) involving pedestrian collisions. Quantitative and qualitative analysis of pedestrian RTAs have been conducted according to the time of the day and certain patterns have been identified. Research has also been conducted on the road surface lighting of the arterial street in Yerevan. It has been found out that the nighttime lighting in accident-prone streets is below the norms, while the majority of pedestrian accidents occur during the dark hours of the day. Based on the research conducted, it is envisaged to discuss measures to enhance safety at pedestrian crossings in the next article.
