The issues of increasing the fatigue strength of critical elements of the gas transportation system, the surfaces of which are subjected to plastic deformation by a hardening device operating under the principle of circular rolling, have been considered. Taking into account the wide range of impact of various factors and options of their combinations, in order to achieve the required level of bearing capacity of the critical elements, the tasks have been classified and formulated to clarify the type of hardening techniques, structural materials, geometric parameters of the elements, and loading modes, which makes it possible to select the necessary data from previously conducted similar studies for the obtained solutions and their application. The priority nature (approximately 75%) of fatigue phenomena in critical pipeline elements has been revealed; thus, the acting factors (both external and internal) were classified. Using the system analysis method, the factors corresponding to the fatigue phenomena were represented in various quantities and combinations, from which three systems of interrelated regression parametric equations were developed for the priority options; these equations are a mathematical model of the bearing capacity of the elements. Using the specified equations, it is possible to quickly calculate the necessary parameters in the design and technological procedures of a gas transportation system to solve direct and inverse problems.
