Abstract

The methodology for technical and economic justification of road traffic projects is not fixed by regulations in the Republic of Armenia. This fact is evidenced by the lack of serious systematic scientific research in the field of substantiating design decisions on the organization of urban traffic in the Republic of Armenia. To assess the technical and economic efficiency of traffic management measures, foreign experience in project development was also taken into account, and a general methodological approach to justifying traffic management projects in cities was proposed. In the case of this approach, the following justification criteria were selected: vehicle delays, reduced fuel consumption, intersection capacity, increased average traffic speed, reduced air pollution, etc.
