Influence of Urban Transport on the Ecological Situation of Yerevan City

In the modern world, the unplanned urbanization of many cities continues, with many negative consequences resulting from this: polluted air, declining economic indicators of the city, serious health problems, infrastructures that do not withstand climatic conditions, barriers in the provision of services, lack of social inclusion and opportunity, etc. The air pollution in Yerevan is very alarming, which has a direct impact on the health of the residents, as well as on the environmental security and socio-economic indicators. The problem is aggravated every year due to the modern pace of urban development and in the process the violation of environmental norms, open exploitation of non-metallic deposits in the vicinity of the city. On the environmental situation and safety directly affect the exploited tens of thousands of vehicles, including public transport, a significant part of which do not meet environmental requirements, with the ensuing consequences. The above mentioned requires the development and implementation of a set of measures, which will allow to relieve the capital, improve the quality of transportation services of public transport, air quality of the capital.
