A new method is proposed for studying the proper oscillation of round solid plates by introducing base points and the corresponding Hermite functions. The practical significance of the proposed method was demonstrated using specific numerical examples involving fundamental equations that describe oscillations. For the first time, we addressed the issue of self-oscillations in a circular solid plate positioned on intermediate articulated supports. Consequently, we were able to ascertain the optimal positioning of the plate. To validate the theoretical findings, experiments were conducted wherein a thin-walled round metallic plate was placed on ring supports of varying diameters. The ultimate outcomes are showcased through graphs and tables and compared to the associated peculiarities.
