The article touches upon the connection of driver’s reliability components with vehicle movement parameters, speed, flow intensity, safe following distance and traction-speed characteristics. The accuracy of the information received by the driver's senses and the traffic safety due to it are discussed. The feature of driver’s reliability according to the central limit theorem in probability theory is presented. Taking into account the influence of many factors on the occurrence of an RTA, for the first time an attempt was made to determine the probability of an RTA according to the central limit theorem in probability theory and the theorem of the law of large numbers.
