It combines function, environmental elements, social units and business by presenting a professional social platform, where the beneficiaries create the environment and help to evaluate the proposed design solutions. In order to illustrate the concept of participatory architecture approach, the spatial planning of the public space of the dormitories located in Nor Nork Moldovakan 29/1-29/9 is presented. This is a repurposed project designed in collaboration with people of different social and ethnic groups. The practice of appropriate adaptation to the participatory architecture within the design process is presented. The research part of the project was carried out by a sociologist and an architect, who carried out a multi-layered research during their joint work. With surveys and local observations, attempts have been made to identify and analyse on how the participants can provide solutions to local problems, and how to effectively apply the principles of sustainable development to those designs.
