The article touches upon the developed method for calculating the operational and specific fuel consumption of commercial automobiles, which is based on coefficients of change in fuel consumption under differentiated modes of automobile movement. Pilot research has been conducted using the study methodology, and its findings allowed for the solution of the means for normalizing the fuel consumption of an intracity minibus. The movement modes have been observed and classified as acceleration, fixed speed, braking, throttle braking, free running and idling, which served as a basis for determining the gas engine fuel consumption on the actual route.
